The GMB offers a wide variety of benefits and services to all our members. Not only are we able to offer exceptional benefits and services direct from the GMB, but by teaming up with a number of highly respectable companies we are now able to offer GMB members many more additional benefits.

The Sick and Accident society can provide you with additional
protection and piece of mind, should you be off work sick. If you are unable to work due to sickness, the society will pay you either after the 13 weeks expirey period or on returning to work before the 13 weeks. (conditions apply)

If you drive as part of your work then the Road Traffic Fund is ideal for you. For just an additional 10p per week to your GMB
contributions the fund offers a variety of benefits for those who drive as part of their work, including the payment of speeding fines (conditions apply).

Total Disablement Benefit is offered to all full time and part time GMB members as part of their membership. Should a member find themselves permanently and totally incapacitated from working, as a result of an injury caused by an accident, which occurred whilst engaged in his/her ordinary work, they will be entitled to submit a claim for Total Disablement Benefit (conditions apply)

Members receive a £10,000 grant

Funeral benefit is offered to all full time, part time and retired life members as part of their membership (conditions apply) On the death of a member and on production of the death certificate a benefit will be made payable to the members widow, widower or member of the family of the deceased, who is responsible for funeral expenses.

Your next of kin will receive £300 provided you have completed 8 years service.

All claims for Funeral Benefit must be submitted within 12 months from the date of death.

Weekly Accident Benefit is offered to all full time and part time GMB members as part of their membership. If a member suffers an accident at work and is therefore absent from work due to their injury, they will be entitled to submit a claim for Weekly Accident Benefit. Weekly Accident Benefit is payable after the second week of absence and is payable for up to a maximum 11 weeks (conditions apply)

Members payment:
£9.25 per week (£1.85 per day)

Should you find yourself overcoming an illness, had an
operation, suffered a bereavement or are under stress, then the GMB can offer our members the use of two convalescent homes, providing that they are able to look after themselves. The basis for these homes is to assist our members on their return to work, there is no medical treatment on site (conditions apply)

Members are allowed to stay for a maximum of two weeks and they are permitted to bring a guest, however guest must pay for their own stay.
